Number of financial pyramids increase in Kyrgyzstan, almost 3 thsd people deceived

Bishkek, Oct. 19, 2021 . / Kabar / . A number of financial pyramids increased this year in Kyrgyzstan, Azamat Duishenaliyev, the deputy head of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said during a press conference on Tuesday.

He said the Interior Ministry is currently investigating more than 2,000 cases related to pyramid schemes, the number of victims is 2,947 people.

"At the moment the ministry is investigating the Antares Trade case, the loss amounted to more than $1 million, 55 citizens filed statements. Now citizens are still appealing,” the deputy head of the Investigation Service added.

He noted that 52 thousand 434 crimes were registered during 9 months last year, and 66 thousand 274 crimes registered during the same period in 2021, an increase of 26.4%.

"Mostly thefts are registered, it is mainly influenced by the social factor, unemployment. In addition, frauds are registered more often, the number of financial pyramids has increased. People invest to get some profit without working and get cheated," Duishenaliyev noted.

In turn, head of Misdemeanor Department Baitik Musayev said that 57,889 misdemeanors were registered in 9 months of this year, while last year these figure was 60,162.
