Bishkek, June 2, 2021 . / Kabar /. 1,302 fires were recorded in Kyrgyzstan in the first five months of 2021 (in 2020 - 869 fires), increasing by 49.8% in comparison with the last year's number of fires, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Property damage totaled KGS 343 million (in 2020 – KGS 146 million). As a result of fires, 24 people were killed (in 2020 - 8 people) and 31 people were injured (in 2020 - 13 people). Ten human lives were saved.
According to statistics, most fire incidents occur in the residential sector, which accounts for 66.1%.
860 fires were registered in the residential sector (490 fires in 2020). Material damage amounted to KGS 153 million, 17 people died (in 2020 - 7).
