Number of Kyrgyz citizens vaccinated against COVID-19 amounts to 43,127

Bishkek, May 11, 2021. / Kabar / . In the past day, another 447 people in Kyrgyzstan were vaccinated against COVID-19 coronavirus infection, of these 112 received the second dose, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the republic Uluk-Bek Bekturganov said during a briefing Tuesday.

He also added that as of today, a total of 43,127 Kyrgyzstanis have received the vaccination, and 6,010 – got the second shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29 using China-donated vaccine after receiving 150 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co. Ltd on March 19. The vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine.

In addition, the first batch of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in the amount of 20,000 doses was delivered to Bishkek on April 22, and 20,000 more doses of the second component of Sputnik V were received on Monday.
