Number of Kyrgyzstan’s population grows 9 times over 120 years

Bishkek, July 11, 2018. / Kabar /. The population of Kyrgyzstan since 1897 to 2018 has grown 9 times. This was stated at the meeting of the Republic Commission on Population and Housing Censuses of 2020 by Chairman of the National Statistics Committee Akylbek Sultanov.

"Compared with 1926, the population of the Kyrgyz Republic has grown 6-fold," he said.

He said that the census of the population this time, according to the government's decree will begin on March 23, 2020 and will last 10 days.

The registration itself will be conducted in several stages.

"First, the preparation of acts and relevant documents, the definition of the methodology for conducting work, explanatory work, conducting a census, entering data into an automated system and summing the results. It should be noted that in the remote areas the census will be conducted from April 20 to 29," Sultanov said.

As of January 1, 2018, the population of Kyrgyzstan was 6.256 million people
