Bishkek, Sept. 12, 2022. / Kabar /. The labor force or economically active population in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 2.7 million people, head of the Department of Labor and Employment Statistics of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulnara Jailobaeva told at a press conference.
According to her data, 1.7 million of them are men and 1 million are women. “The labor force participation rate for ages 15 and over was over 60%. Men are more active in the labor market - 70.6% and women - 45%. The peak of working activity for 95% of men is reached at 30-34 years old, for women - 45-48 years old, which is more than 70%,” she informed.
She noted that the largest employment by region is in the Osh region, where this figure is 632 thousand people, in the Jalal-Abad region 396 thousand employed and in the Chui region 357 thousand workers.
