Bishkek, March 4, 2022 / Kabar /. Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev and Japanese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Maeda Shigeki signed a number of contracts under the grant program of the Japanese government "Grass Roots and Human Security".
The press service of the Ministry of Health said that a number of medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan will receive medical equipment as part of the grant program.
So, within the framework of the signed contracts:
- The National Center for Cardiology and Therapy will be equipped with an expert-class portable digital ultrasound system with transesophageal echocardiography transducer (Philips) for a total cost of USD 82,538;
- The National Phthisiology Center will receive an electron-optical converter (Philips), an artificial lung ventilation apparatus, an operating lamp, beds and cabinets for the children's department for a total of USD 151,223;
- The Family Medicine Center No. 10 in Bishkek will receive an ultrasound machine "Philips Affiniti 50" for a total of USD 55,956.
In conclusion, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for the long-term support of the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic through the grant program “Grass Roots and Human Security, the report said.
The Grass Roots and Human Security grant program has been implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic since 1996. It is aimed at solving the problem of basic human needs (Basic Human Needs) with the efforts of local governments, primary health care institutions, primary education, non-governmental organizations, etc. During this time, within the framework of this program, 170 projects were implemented in Kyrgyzstan for a total of USD 11 million 417 thousand 853.
