Number of people in need of hemodialysis growing in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 25, 2022. /Kabar/. The number of patients requiring hemodialysis increased by 369 people in 2022 compared to 2021, according to the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund.

As of October 1, 2022, the Hemodialysis database contains 2,202 patients with stage 5 chronic renal failure (CRF), which is 369 patients more than in the previous year (1,833 patients).

From the beginning of the year to September, dialysis centers provided 222,800 hemodialysis sessions to CRF patients, which is 34,500 more than in 2021 (188,300 thousand).

Patients do not pay for dialysis, the service is free for everyone, payment is made by the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund from the republican budget.

Due to the increase in patients with chronic renal failure (due to chronic kidney disease), the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund recommends timely preventive examinations.
