Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2022 . / Kabar /. As of 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 28, the total number of people injured in conflict in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Oblast reached 12.
The Health Ministry of the republic reported that all those injured are hospitalized in the Batken Oblast United Hospital, their condition is assessed as moderate severity.
Earlier it was reported that 11 servicemen of Kyrgyzstan were wounded.
The border conflict started on Jan. 27 when Tajik border guards unilaterally blocked a section of the Batken-Isfana road in the area of Tort-Kocho in Batken of Kyrgyzstan.
Later, after the negotiations of the sides the road section was reopened for traffic.
However, the same day late evening the situation worsened due to the use of weapons and fire by the Tajik side on the border units of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chyr-Dobo area of Batken region. The Tajik side used mortars and grenade launchers.
Further, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed on a complete ceasefire on the border.
The Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported on Jan. 28 that the night passed calmly and the situation at the border is stable.
