Number of road accidents in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 8% since beginning of year

Bishkek, Oct. 13, 2022. /Kabar/. The number of road traffic accidents in Kyrgyzstan has decreased by 8.3% since the beginning of the year, compared to the same period in 2021, Kanatbek Kubatbekov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, told reporters at Kabar News Agency.

According to his data, if last year 5,426 accidents were registered in 9 months, then this year - 4,972 accidents.

Kubatbekov noted that if the number of deaths in road accidents last year reached 610 people, this year 477 victims were registered.

“The decrease occurred by 21.8%. Also, victims last year were registered in the amount of 8 thousand 301 people, this year - 7 thousand 888 people, a decrease occurred by 4.9%,” he said.
