Bishkek, March 22, 2023. /Kabar/. Minister of Labour, Social Development and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Kudaibergen Bazarbaev at the solemn celebration of Nooruz in Naryn spoke about the planned socio-economic projects in the region as part of the national program until 2026.
Thus, Bazarbaev said that the following projects are planned to be implemented in 2023 in Naryn:
- Construction of a meat processing plant with the attraction of private investments in the amount of 950 thousand US dollars in the At-Bashinsky district (terms: 2022-2025). After the launch of the enterprise, 80 new jobs will be created;
- Resumption of construction of the Upper Naryn HPP cascade on the Naryn River and construction of the Kulanak HPP (terms: 2022-2025);
- Development and implementation of a special program for the development of border settlements, taking into account the location of the Naryn region on the border with China (terms: 2022-2023);
- To equip special phytosanitary laboratories to create conditions for the certification of agricultural products.
Recall that in October 2021, the President of Kyrgyzstan adopted the National Development Program until 2026.

The Upper Naryn Cascade of HPPs is a hydropower complex suspended in 2016, which includes 4 hydroelectric power plants in the upper reaches of the Naryn River. Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic signed a memorandum on the construction of the Upper Naryn HPP cascade with a British company.
In turn, the design capacity of the Kulanak HPP is 100 megawatts. The HPP will be built below the confluence of the Naryn and At-Bashi rivers at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level.
The start of the construction of the hydropower plant was given by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in October 2022.
