Number of syphilis and HIV infections on rise in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 29, 2023. / Kabar /. There is an increase in the incidence of syphilis and HIV infection In Kyrgyzstan, in January-April 2023.

According to the report of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, the total number of HIV-infected people increased by 8.3%, 369 cases were registered against 335 cases in 2022.

The highest incidence rate is observed in Bishkek (12.3%), Osh (8.0%) and Issyk-Kul (6.3%) region.

Also, in 4 months of 2023, 130 cases of syphilis infection were detected. Last year, 97 cases were registered during the same period.
