Bishkek, Mar.5, 2020. /Kabar/. In 2019, the number of tourists visiting specially protected areas in Kyrgyzstan increased, Nadyrbek Kozubayev, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry said at the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He specified that in comparison with 2018, the number of visitors to such zones has increased by 5 thousand 796 people.
"The territory of specially protected natural areas has also increased. At present, the total territory of such zones is 147 thousand hectares. This makes up 7.38% of the total territory of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the deputy director concluded.
