Nurbek Toichubayev represents Kyrgyzstan at Paratriathlon World Cup

Bishkek, Oct.9, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Nurbek Toichubayev participated in the Paratriathlon World Cup, held in Turkey, the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

The competition was held on Oct. 6 in Alanya.

Toichubayev finished with the result of 1 hour 13 minutes and 57 seconds. As a result, he took the ninth place.

On the same day, IRONMAN competitions were held in Calella (Spain), where Kyrgyzstan was represented by 8 athletes: Myrzabek Omurbayev (10:47:08), Timur Mammedov (10:54:12), Igor Lysenko (11:37:35), Artem Kurtmalayev (11:37:35), Askar Kulmanov (11:38:46), Roman Grebnev (11:42:24), Aizada Tynaliyeva (12:20:22) and Bektur Subanbekov (12:30:05).

Paratriathlon is a variant of the triathlon for athletes with a physical disability. The sport is governed by the International Triathlon Union (ITU), and was first held as a Paralympic event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
