Official handover of humanitarian aid from China in Bishkek

Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2021 /Kabar/. The official handover ceremony of the humanitarian cargo from China, which arrived in Kyrgyzstan on September 13 is held today at the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan.

Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen and State Secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Azamat Mambetov took part in ceremony.

The cargo was allocated by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China in order to assist the friendly Kyrgyz people in the fight against coronavirus infection COVID-19 within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic partnership relations, as well as on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The humanitarian aid includes 3 million medical masks, 100 thousand pieces of medical masks N95, 20 thousand sets of protective suits and 1.5 thousand tons of wheat.

Beishenaliev expressed gratitude on behalf of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Health and Social Development to the friendly Chinese people for the significant support provided in the fight against the spread and consequences of coronavirus infection in the republic, as well as for help in ensuring food security.

“I am confident that the donated personal protective equipment will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 both among medical personnel and among the population, and the provided 1.5 thousand tons of wheat will be a significant contribution to ensuring food security,” the minister said.
