Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2023. / Kabar/. The official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Japan, which took place on November 17-20, has ended.
On the first day of the visit, the head of state and his wife Aigul Zhaparova met with Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at the Imperial Palace, as well as met members of the Imperial family and members of the official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Further, meetings were held with the Speaker of the Japanese Parliament Fukushiro Nukaga and with the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Nobumitsu Hayashi.
During the meetings, issues of developing inter-parliamentary relations were discussed, as well as strengthening partnerships with Japan, including in attracting reputable financial institutions.
On the second day of the visit, November 18, President Sadyr Zhaparov and First Lady Aigul Zhaparova arrived in Kyoto on the Shinkansen high-speed train.
Here the head of state met with Governor of Kyoto Prefecture, Takatoshi Nishiwaki, who expressed confidence that Sadyr Zhaparov’s visit to Japan will take bilateral relations between the states to a new level.
In the ancient capital of Japan, the president and first lady took part in a tea ceremony, during which they tasted a traditional aromatic drink.
Here, on November 19, a walk took place in the imperial garden “Sento” around the pond, after which Sadyr Zhaparov left an entry in the book of honored guests.
Upon his return to Tokyo, Sadyr Zhaparov held a number of negotiations on November 20, among them: a business meeting with the leadership of the Japanese business association ROTOBO, the Japanese Foreign Trade Organization JETRO, with representatives of the Metarise Japan company, with the management of JICA, as well as head of the Japanese Association of Tour Operators JATA.
In addition, the head of state gave an interview to the Japanese national channel NHK, during which he spoke in detail about the development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
In the afternoon, an official meeting ceremony between the president of Kyrgyzstan and the head of the Government of the country, Fumio Kishida, took place at the Prime Minister’s residence. After which, the leaders held bilateral negotiations, during which the prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
At the same time, a meeting between the First Lady of Kyrgyzstan Aigul Zhaparova and the wife of the Prime Minister of Japan Yuko Kishida took place at the Prime Minister’s residence.
Next, a ceremony of signing and exchange of bilateral documents took place, as well as a joint statement by the leaders for the media following the negotiations.
Then the head of state and his wife took part in an official reception on behalf of the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida.
On the morning of November 21, having completed his official visit, President Sadyr Zhaparov returned to Bishkek.
