Bishkek, May 19, 2018. / Kabar /. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan led by Prime Minister Muhammedkaly Abylgaziev on May 18 took part in the seventh extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul (Turkey), the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
Following the meeting, the heads of delegations of the OIC member countries adopted a final declaration expressing concern over the growing tensions in the territory of Palestine.
The declaration calls for the international community, mainly the countries members of the UN Security Council, to fulfill their obligations to protect the norms of international law and order of the issues of Palestine.
The countries-participants of the extraordinary summit of OIC urged the world community to make efforts to immediately bring the situation in Palestine to the consideration of the General Assembly, Security Council and the UN Human Rights Council.
An extraordinary summit was convened at the initiative of the acting chairman of OIC - Turkey. It was attended by the heads of 9 states - Afghanistan, Guinea, Iran, Qatar, Kuwait, Mauritania, Sudan, Jordan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Indonesia and Gambia were represented by vice presidents.
Palestine, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan were represented at the level of the heads of government, at the level of parliament speakers - Uzbekistan, Algeria and Sudan.
The OIC Secretary-General Yusuf bin Ahmad al-Usaimin said at the final press conference that the OIC summit called for an international investigation into the actions of the Israeli military against peaceful Palestinians.
