Bishkek, July 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . The national Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling team of Kyrgyzstan has left for Tokyo for the 32nd Olympic Games.
The national wrestlers are accompanied by Deputy Director of the Directorate of Olympic sports under the State Agency for Youth, Physical Education and Sports Alibek Tashmatov, curator of the wrestling section Azamat Bekmurzaev, Vice President of the Greco-Roman Wrestling Federation Kanat Begaliyev, fans and relatives of athletes, as well as head coaches Azat Erkinbaev and Ulukbek Karacholokov.
Beijing 2008 Olympics medalist Kanata Begaliyev said that wrestlers' continued success depends only on themselves.
"The people of Kyrgyzstan support you, let luck go with you. I wish you to come back with victory," he said.
Zholaman Sharshenbekov (up to 60kg) will be the first to perform at the Olympics in Tokyo. The Kyrgyzstani will met his rival on Aug. 1 at 8:00 a.m. local time.
Akzhol Makhmudov (up to 77 kg) and Uzur Zhusupbekov (up to 97kg) will compete for medals on Aug. 2.
Another wrestler Atabek Azizbekov (up to 87kg) will perform on Aug. 3 at 8:00 a.m.
