Olympics 2020. Kyrgyzstani Petrov loses to Japanese fencer

Bishkek, July 25, 2021 . / Kabar / . Fencer from Kyrgyzstan Roman Petrov lost 1/16 finals to Japan's Masaru Yamada at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The Kyrgyzstani fencer started at the Olympics with a victory in the 1/32 finals with a score 15:7 against South Korean athlete Ma Segeon.

In 1/16 finals, Petrov lost to Japanese representative Masaru Yamada. Petrov The Kyrgyz dropped out of the medal race.

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Kyrgyzstan is represented by 16 athletes in seven sports.

Shooter Kanykei Kubanychbekova was the first national athlete to perform at the major sporting event.

She placed 48th at the 10m Air Rifle women's event.

Another athlete, swimmer Denis Petrashov competed in the 100m breaststroke.

He overcame the distance in 1 minute 0,23 seconds, becoming the 3rd in his group. The national swimmercouldn't make it to the semi-final.

16 swimmers showed the best results.

The Kyrgyzstani will compete in the 200m breaststroke event July 26.
