Bishkek, Aug. 9, 2024 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan's Munarbek Seyitbek uulu has reached the finals of the Paris Olympics.
He competes in the boxing competition in the 57 kg weight category.
The Kyrgyzstani started at the 1/8 finals stage and on the night of Aug.1 defeated Saidel Horta of Cuba by split decision of the judges to advance to the quarterfinals.
On the night of Aug. 4, Seyitbek uulu fought against world champion Jamal Harvey from the United States and again won by split decision.
On the night of Aug. 9, he played his semifinal match on the Philippe Chatrier Court, where the Roland Garros tennis tournament takes place. His opponent was Javier Ibanez Diaz from Bulgaria.
At the end of three rounds of 3 minutes, the judges gave the victory to the Kyrgyzstani by split decision.
Munarbek Seyitbek uulu advanced to the Olympic final, where he will fight against reigning Asian, world and Asian Games champion Abdumalik Kholokov of Uzbekistan on the night of Aug. 11.
