Bishkek, Aug. 8, 2024 . / Kabar / . Wrestler from Kyrgyzstan Amantur Ismailov will compete for a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Paris.
He is competing in the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament in the 67 kg weight category.
The Kyrgyzstani started at the 1/8 finals stage, defeating Georgia early, but in the quarterfinals he lost a 6-2 decision to Ukraine.
The athlete from Ukraine reached the final and allowed Ismailov to continue his fight for the bronze medal.
On Aug. 8, the Kyrgyz met Mate Nemes of Serbia in the first round of the consolation tournament for third place.
The meeting ended with the score 8:0 in favor of Ismailov, who in the evening will fight for the final 3rd place and bronze medal of the Games in Paris. His opponent will be Khasrat Zhafarov from Azerbaijan.
