Bishkek, Oct. 14, 2020. /Kabar/. Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan Tokon Mamytov took part in an online meeting of representatives of member countries of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly (International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations).
According to the press service of the Ombudsman Institute, during the meeting Mamytov emphasized that some mass media and Internet resources place distorted information about Oct. 5-6 events in Kyrgyzstan that took place immediately after elections to the Parliament of the country.
"Legitimate President Sooronbay Jeenbekov continues his activities, in addition, the legitimate composition of the 6th convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh also continues its work, and the process of legitimizing the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is currently underway. All state institutions, retail outlets and public transport are working," he said.
The purpose of this meeting was to coordinate joint activities and operatively discuss topical problems, tasks and plans. In particular, the agenda included issues related to the information policy of the Assembly, monitoring of international events in Eurasia, representing the interests of the Assembly at international events, as well as coordination of plans to strengthen and develop further cooperation.
