Bishkek, Feb. 8, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Ombudsman Tokon Mamytov received a group of staff members of the Penal Reform International in Central Asia (PRI), who visited the Ombudsman’s office to discuss a closer and broader cooperation of the organization with the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In particular, the meeting was attended by PRI Regional Director Azamat Shambilov; project coordinator Jarkynay Usupova; National Consultant, Hotline 115 Supervisor Yulia Denisenko; PR-specialist Jana Baiburina; manager Anel Tleukesh and project assistant Burulay Myrzakmatova.
During the conversation, possible perspectives and plans for further cooperation on solving problems relating to the protection of the rights of prisoners of Kyrgyzstan, convicted women and their children under three in correctional colony 2, as well as issues relating to the protection of the rights of persons sentenced to life imprisonment.
The parties came to the unanimous conclusion that the rapid and close cooperation of various human rights organizations with the Ombudsman Office, mutual understanding and the desire to respect human and civil rights in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, which is celebrated now, have a positive impact on the democratic development of the country as a whole.
The Penal Reform International (PRI) is an independent non-governmental organization that develops and promotes just, effective, and proper proposals to address the issues of criminal justice throughout the world.
