Bishkek, June 16, 2023. / Kabar /. Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of Kyrgyzstan Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva and Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova held video conference talks.
The sides discussed building up cooperation in the field of protecting the rights of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in accordance with the generally recognized principles and norms of international law.
The ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan and the human rights commissioner of Russia agreed on the need for joint action to protect the rights of migrants from Kyrgyzstan in Russia, as well as the rights of Russian citizens in Kyrgyzstan.
Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva expressed confidence that cooperation between the institutions for the protection of the rights of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Russia will develop dynamically.
“I am interested in developing interaction between our institutions and note the need to build up relations on various aspects of cooperation, such as cooperation and the provision of prompt assistance to citizens of both countries whose rights and freedoms have been violated. We appreciate every step and attention aimed at improving the conditions of stay of our migrants in Russia,” the ombudswoman of Kyrgyzstan noted.
Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva stressed that the Ombudsman Institute of Kyrgyzstan expresses its gratitude to Tatyana Potyaeva, Commissioner for Human Rights in Moscow (Russia), for her participation in the fate of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan who is in isolator in Moscow.
Tatyana Moskalkova noted that at the legislative level, she is taking measures to facilitate the conditions for the stay of migrants from Kyrgyzstan in Russia.
As a result of the negotiations, the ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan and the human rights commissioner of Russia reached an understanding on many issues regarding the protection of the rights of labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan.
In particular, on the issue of providing assistance in preparing volunteers for knowledge of Russian legislation in the field of human rights.
Volunteers are Russian citizens who will help migrants from Kyrgyzstan whose rights have been violated.
