Bishkek, June 15, 2020 /Kabar/. On the results of 5 months of 2020, the budget deficit was KGS 13 billion 352 million, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Director of the Central Treasury Marlen Amandykov told at a news briefing Monday.
He said that since March this year, there have been significant difficulties in the execution of the budget revenues, and therefore the Ministry of Finance has taken prompt measures to attract donor funds for the timely execution of social obligations.
"According to results of the first 5 months of 2020, the total income was performed in the amount of KGS 40 billion 996 million, which is less than the last year's figure for the same period by KGS 11 billion 199 million. Budget expenses for the first 5 months amounted to KGS 54 billion 340 million, these figures by KGS 2 billion 867 million more than the same period of last year.
Also, the budget deficit for the first 5 months of 2020 amounted to KGS 13 billion 352 million. Budget revenues have been reduced by KGS 11 billion 199 million compared to last year, while expenditures have increased by KGS 2 billion 867 million," Amandykov said.
"As for the expenditure part of the budget - socially significant payments have been made in full. All requests of budgetary institutions on protected items were satisfied by 100 percent. For the first 5 months of this year, spending on salaries amounted to KGS 19 billion 353 million, contributions to the Social Fund made KGS 2 billion 365 million, financing grants to international and other sectors of state-run institutions, such as Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, the Social Fund and local governments, totaling KGS 14 billion 897 million,” the official said.
He also noted that during the period, the sources of budget deficit coverage amounted to KGS 23 billion: internal sources – KGS 4 billion 700 million and external sources – KGS 18 billion 282 million, of which the IMF loan made KGS 17 billion.
