Bishkek, April 13, 2022. / Kabar /. One in five people in Kyrgyzstan suffer from obesity, the Health Ministry of the republic reported citing the World Health Organization.
According to the study, half of Kyrgyzstan's adult population, 56.2 percent, is overweight or obese, and the figure is higher for women than for men.
A quarter (23.1%) of the population is obese, and this figure is higher for women than for men.
The study also reported that two-fifths (43%) of the nation's adults (25-64 years old) have arterial hypertension.
