One of peaks of Tyan-Shan named in honor of Kyrgyz politician Turdakun Usubaliev

Bishkek, Oct. 21, 2019 / Kabar /. One of the peaks of Tyan Shan mountains is named after Turdakun Usubaliev, the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

A group of Kyrgyz climbers, led by Deputy Director of the State Agency Kanatbek Arpachiev, climbed a previously unnamed peak in the center of the Kyrgyz ridge, near the Salyk glacier of 4650 m height.

Climbing to the top was timed to coincide with the centenary of the birth of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR, the hero of the republic Turdakun Usubaliev. Participants in the campaign set a sign on top of a politician.

Turdakun Usubaliev was a Soviet Union-era Kyrgyz politician and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan in the period 1961–1985. Usubalijev died in September 2015 at the age of 95.
