Bishkek, July 19, 2024 . / Kabar / . An online launching ceremony of joint Kyrgyz-Uzbek projects was held July 18 with the participation of Kyrgyz and Uzbek presidents.
The opening was held during the state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
The leaders of the two countries officially gave the start to the work of the plant for the production of commercial vehicles and passenger cars in Kyrgyzstan. The site will cover an area of 4.7 hectares. The plant will provide jobs for 500 people.
The plant for the production of fabric and knitted garments in Kara-Balta town was also launched.
The production capacity of the plant is estimated at 17 thousand tons of knitted fabric and 7 million pieces of knitted garments annually.
In addition, the construction of two photovoltaic power plants, each with a capacity of 200 MW in Fergana Namangan Regions of Uzbekistan was launched for the purpose of further supply of generated electricity to the Kyrgyz Republic.
