Online festive concert in honor of Komuz Day held in Bishkek

Bishkek, Sept. 10, 2020 / Kabar /. An online concert was held in Bishkek in honor of Komuz Day, the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Zhamankulov took part in the event and congratulated the Kyrgyz people on Komuz Day.

In his congratulatory speech, the minister congratulated all Kyrgyzstanis on Komuz Day, noting that we are obliged to respect our traditional national instrument and pass it on from generation to generation as a cultural heritage, the report said.

At the same time, he added that the event is being held online in connection with the epidemiological situation in the country, and stressed that the format of the holiday will continue to expand.

A decree on the celebration of Komuz Day, as an integral part of the culture of the Kyrgyz people, was signed by President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in July 2019.

The komuz traditional musical instrument of Kyrgyz people and is widely recognized as a national symbol of Kyrgyzstan.
