Open-air museum may appear in Osh Oblast of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 5, 2020. /Kabar/. Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Jamankulov visited Surottu-Tash archaeological site in the Kyzyl-Kyshtak village in Kara-Su region of Osh Oblast.

According to the press service of the Culture Ministry, Jamankulov told local authorities that the monument is a unique heritage of human history and culture, and emphasized that all necessary measures were taken to ensure the integrity of the historical landscape and its protected areas.

While touring the site, the minister noted the need to allot the territory of the monument to the historical and cultural heritage and documentation (State Act). In addition, during the discussion, Jamankulov stressed the need to organize an open-air museum for tourism development.

This archeological monument is a cultural heritage with images of horses, deer, mountain goats and leopards of the III century B.C. - V century A.D. The monument depicts horses known in historical sources and scientific literature as "Davan horses" and "celestial horses".
