Bishkek, April 16, 2021 . / Kabar / . An opening ceremony of the Kyrgyz-Indian joint special forces exercise Kanzhar-8 took place on Friday at the National Guard of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Defense Ministry reported.
The Indian contingent arrived the day before to participate in the exercise conducted in accordance with the Plan of Bilateral Military Cooperation.

During the coming two weeks, the Kyrgyz and Indian special forces will work on training special forces units to conduct a joint special operation to destroy illegal armed groups in mountainous terrain.

The plan for joint training includes practical exercises in tactical, mountainous, military-medical, firearms training, tactics of actions when storming buildings and survival techniques in extreme conditions.

The Kanzhar joint exercise of special-purpose units between the military ministries of the two friendly states is held on an annual basis and last time took place on the territory of India.
