Bishkek, July 18, 2024 . / Kabar / . Manas International Airport (MIA) is considering opening direct flights to the United States of America.
The press service of the air harbor reported that Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency Daniyar Bostonov, Chairman of the Board of MIA OJSC Manasbek Samidinov and Commercial Director of MIA OJSC Aman Mamaev took part in a meeting with Ambassador of the United States of America to Kyrgyzstan Lesslie Viguerie.
The sides discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation, namely the opening of direct flights from Bishkek to New York or Chicago, as well as the organization of cargo transportation and the opening of an international delivery service.
The ambassador commented positively on the passing of the ICAO international audit by the Civil Aviation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
"Passing the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) audit is critical for any country, including Kyrgyzstan. The ICAO audit assesses the compliance of national aviation standards and practices with international requirements, which affects flight safety, the trust of international partners and the country's overall reputation in the aviation industry," he said.
In turn, Manasbek Samidinov emphasized that U.S.-Kyrgyz cooperation in aviation is a strategically important initiative that can significantly improve aviation safety, infrastructure, and economic development in Kyrgyzstan, as well as strengthen political and diplomatic relations between the countries
