Bishkek, Dec. 8, 2020 / Kabar /. The opening of the 4th Issyk-Kul forum will take place on the theme "State and political figure Chingiz Aitmatov", Assol Moldokmatova, vice president of the Issyk-Kul forum named after Chingiz Aitmatov said.
The organizers of the forum are the public association "International Issyk-Kul Forum named after Chingiz Aitmatov" (Kyrgyzstan) and the famous Turkish cultural figure, film director Omer Erdogan. The events are held under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The event will be attended by well-known statesmen, public and political figures of Kyrgyzstan, who personally knew Chingiz Aitmatov not only as a writer, but also as a statesman, social and political figure and diplomat, as well as representatives of the creative intelligentsia, heads of a number of universities in Kyrgyzstan, guests from Turkey
“It is assumed that the opening ceremony of the Issyk-Kul Forum will take place in Bishkek on the eve of the 92nd anniversary of the writer's birth, which is celebrated on Dec. 12. The 4th Issyk-Kul Forum itself is planned to be held in Turkey on June 9-10, 2021, timed to coincide with the death of Chingiz Aitmatov in 2008,” she said.
Moldokmatova noted that the first Issyk-Kul forum was held in 1986 in Issyk-Kul and was conceived by Chingiz Aitmatov as an intellectual platform for free discussion of global problems.
The second forum took place in 1997 already in independent Kyrgyzstan
President of Turkey Suleiman Demirel took part in it as a guest of honor. The conversation at the forum concerned the fate of national cultures in the era of globalization, as well as the prospects for the development of the newly independent states of Central Asia.
The third Issyk-Kul Forum was held in Kyrgyzstan without its founder in 2018 and was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the writer.
