Bishkek, March 13, 2024. /Kabar/. The grand opening of the rehabilitated Ak-Kyrchoo canal, which was restored thanks to grant funds from China, took place today in Ton district, the presidential plenipotentiary office in the Issyk-Kul region reported.
The length of the main canal is 17.5 km, and its throughput reaches 7 cubic meters per second.
The opening ceremony of the channel was attended by high-ranking government officials, including Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev, Chinese Ambassador Du Dewen, Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Issyk-Kul region Ulanbek Daliev, as well as a number of regional leaders and guests.
The opening of the Ak-Kyrchoo canal is an important event for the development of infrastructure and agriculture in the region, as well as evidence of productive cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.
