Management of Ysyk-Ata region together with Child Rights Defenders League Public Foundation held a meeting on development of family support services and foster family development.
An interdepartmental plan for optimization of residential institutions for children was presented in the course of the event
"50 foster families are expected to be prepared in 2020, which will serve as an alternative form of placement of children in difficult life situations, and services for family support and development of foster families will be created in a pilot mode," the report says.
The event was held by the management of the Ysyk-Ata region, Child Rights Defenders League Public Foundation, Partnership for Every Child (Moldova) Public Organization under the Creation of favorable family environment for children in Kyrgyzstan project with the support of the European Union.
Foster care is a system in which a minor has been placed into a ward, group home (residential child care community, treatment center, etc.), or private home of a state-certified caregiver, referred to as a "foster parent" or with a family member approved by the state.
The placement of the child is normally arranged through the government or a social service agency. The institution, group home or foster parent is compensated for expenses unless with a family member.
