OSCE Chairman-in-Office to visit Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák will visit Kyrgyzstan on April 8-9, 2019 as part of his tour around the region, the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek reported.

“Within the framework of the visit, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office will hold meetings with the President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. During the meetings, the common agenda of the OSCE, including issues of cooperation between the OSCE and the Kyrgyz Republic, are expected to be discussed,” the message says.

The upcoming visit of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office coincides with a landmark event – the celebration of the 20th anniversary of OSCE activities in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In this regard, on April 9, the anniversary high-level conference will be held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the OSCE activities in the Kyrgyz Republic, which will be devoted to discussing the achievements of the OSCE over all the years of work in the country, including prospects for cooperation.

The last time, the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office at the time, visited the Kyrgyz Republic in 2016.
