OSCE Corner opened at National Library of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2020 / Kabar /. OSCE Corner has been opened at the National Library of Kyrgyzstan named after Alykul Osmonov, the press service of the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The opening of the Corner was the result of cooperation between the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic and the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, as well as the signing of an Agreement on the opening of the OSCE Corner with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan.

The OSCE Corner will serve as a platform for informing a wide circle of the population about security issues, building a dialogue, regional cooperation, as well as a wide range of activities of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.

The OSCE Corner is located on the 1st floor of the library and is equipped with modern computer equipment and comfortable furniture for visitors. The Corner Foundation includes an extensive literature published by the OSCE on a variety of topics, including regional security, counter-terrorism, anti-trafficking, gender equality, public safety, environmental protection, and others.

The opening ceremony of the OSCE corner was attended by Head of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, Ambassador Pierre von Arx, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurjigit Kadyrbekov, Director of the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhyldyz Bakashova and others.

The event was held in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological norms and rules.
