OSCE PA mission to visit Bishkek to observe presidential elections

Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2020 / Kabar /. The Permanent Representatives of the Central Asian countries met in Vienna on Dec. 17 with Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for Central Asia and Mongolia, Member of the Austrian Parliament Dr. Reinhold Lopatka.

The meeting was also attended by Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador Bakyt Dzhusupov.

The issues of developing inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed at the meeting. Permanent Representative Dzhusupov informed about the upcoming presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan and the referendum scheduled for Jan. 10, 2021. He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is committed to holding transparent, free and fair elections in accordance with national legislation and international standards.

He emphasized that the activities of the OSCE PA play an important role in strengthening the authority of the Organization, especially in the field of election observation.

It was noted that on January 4-5, 2021, the OSCE PA mission intends to visit Bishkek to observe the presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic. The mission will be headed by Lopatka.
