OSCE PA meeting in Bishkek is of great importance - Kyrgyz Ambassador to Austria

Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2018. / Kabar /. The holding of the autumn meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) in Bishkek is of great importance, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Austria, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE Bakyt Dzhusupov told reporters in Bishkek.

He said that, first of all, this is recognition of democratic development of the country by the Organization.

“For Kyrgyzstan, this is a very big event - the recognition by 57 OSCE countries of those democratic processes, of the democratic development that is taking place in the country,” he said.

He pointed out that the main topic of discussion during the two-day sessional meetings will be the issue of security in Central Asia.

“In Central Asia, there is now a new spirit of cooperation, but at the same time, new challenges are emerging, and we can find ways for them within the OSCE to open new ways of cooperation,” Dzhusupov said.

The official opening of the autumn meeting of the OSCE PA was held on Wednesday, Oct. 4 with the participation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
