OSCE Program Office in Bishkek provides Kyrgyz Local Self-Government Agency technical assistance to combat COVID-19

Bishkek, Apr. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. A ceremony of handing over technical assistance form OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek to the State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations (SALSGIR) under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic was held on Thursday.

According to SALSGIR’s press service, the assistance was in the form of COVID-19 coronavirus protection equipment, namely 400 H 95 reusable masks, 200 nitrile gloves, 50 protective goggles, 10 protective overalls, 2 contactless thermometers to combat COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

The handing over ceremony was attended by Head of OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, Ambassador Pierre von Arx and SALSGIR Director Bakhtiyar Saliyev.

SALSGIR and OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek also cooperate in the field of interethnic relations to support the system of early response and prevention of interethnic conflicts.

In the framework of cooperation, support is provided to the activities of the Monitoring Centre and 23 public receptions of SALSGIR in multi-ethnic regions and towns of the republic.
