Osh, June 9, 2022. /Kabar/. At the initiative of the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation between the cities of Osh (Kyrgyzstan) and Istanbul (Turkey), Mayor of Osh Almaz Mambetov and Consul General Lira Sydykova met with Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between the Mayor's Offices of the two cities, including the identification of further prospects for cooperation.
The Osh mayor informed his colleague about the latest activities to develop bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, and noted this year will celebrate 25th anniversary since the establishment of twinning relations between the cities of Osh and Istanbul. In this regard, Almaz Mambetov expressed intention to further increase mutually beneficial relations between the twin cities, and called to combine efforts to implement joint projects.
In turn, Ekrem Imamoglu expressed readiness for further joint work and shared the municipality's plans regarding development of bilateral cooperation with cities of Turkic-speaking countries. He also agreed with Mambetov on the need to strengthen cooperation between the cities of Osh and Istanbul.
As a result of the meeting, Almaz Mambetov invited the Istanbul mayor to visit Osh city for an official visit in order to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation.
