Osh, Dec. 8, 2021 / Kabar /. Mayor of Osh city, southern capital of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Mambetov met with UNICEF representative in Kyrgyzstan Christine Jaulmes.

In his welcoming speech, the mayor noted the importance of the work that UNICEF is doing to protect the rights and interests of children, the protection of mothers and children, as well as in the field of early development and education of children, in particular, he thanked for the improvement of the infrastructure of the city maternity hospital, training of medical personnel.
The mayor suggested opening a positive parenting resource center where parents could be taught the basics of childcare in the first years of life. Christine Jaulmes supported this initiative, noting that the development of digital mechanisms is currently being completed in this direction.
The UNICEF representative in Kyrgyzstan spoke about the ongoing projects in the field of supporting children, increasing the activity of young people, stressing that next year it is planned to launch a project among children to develop a multi-ethnic atmosphere where every citizen can get access to various services. This project is based on fostering tolerance and respect for each other in young children.
Further, the results of programs in the field of education (the project "Girls in Science"), health care, including the provision of medical institutions of the city with the necessary equipment, the implementation of a project on perinatal audit to reduce disability among newborns in the first periods of life were discussed.
