Osh Mayor receives newly appointed UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan

Osh, Oct.22, 2019 /Kabar/. On Monday, Oct. 21 Mayor of Osh Taalaibek Sarybashov received newly appointed UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan Christine Jolme.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of projects in education and health care, as well as joint projects in the near future.

In his welcoming speech, the mayor congratulated Christine Jolme on the appointment and spoke about the main priorities of the Osh Mayor’s Office, including support for the activities of the Mother and Child Center, opened last fall, early intervention programs, work with external migrants and other projects.

In turn, Christine Jolme noted the good cooperation of Osh’s local authorities with UNICEF Osh Office on the implementation of a number of programs and projects, emphasizing that one of the priority areas of UNICEF in Osh is the project on inclusive education, as part of which one of the 10 schools for adolescents with disabilities was opened in Osh.

At the end of the meeting, the Osh Mayor's Office made a proposal to train specialists working with children in the fields of education and health care, as well as to provide a number of health care institutions of the city with medical equipment for examination of children.
