Osh, Sept. 28, 2018. /Kabar/. First Vice Mayor Saybjan Turduev met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic Ha Tae-yeok in Osh Mayor’s Office.
During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as cooperation on joint programs and projects, including projects of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), projects in the field of development and support of agriculture, as well as educational programs.
In addition, within the framework of the discussion, the issues of the Samahil movement, which is popular in the Republic of Korea itself, and conducts active trainings in Kyrgyzstan were raised.
The Ambassador noted that within the framework of various programs in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan, active assistance in the development of the regions can be provided. He added that active training is being conducted within the framework of internship programs for students from Osh in the universities of the Republic of Korea, who, after returning home, will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in their homeland.
"Osh is a very attractive city from a historical point of view. He played a significant role on the Great Silk Road. Every year more and more tourists wish to visit Osh and get acquainted with its historical monuments,” Ha Tae-yeok noted.
In turn, Turduev stressed that the city administration of Osh will render all assistance and support in the implementation of projects, social, including educational and infrastructure programs.
The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was established by the South Korean government on April 1, 1991 with the goal of maximizing the effectiveness of Korean development programs through the implementation of government grants in developing countries. The organization's activities extend both to the support of human rights, and to ensuring stable development, strengthening partnership with developing partner countries, as well as the development of local communities.
