Osh Vice Mayor discusses joint projects with German Ambassador

Osh, Oct. 25, 2018. /Kabar/. Osh Vice Mayor Nurbek Kadyrov met Wednesday with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kyrgyzstan Monika Iversen.

During the meeting, the sides discussed joint projects implemented with the assistance of the German Government in Kyrgyzstan and in the south of the republic.

In the framework of the meeting, the Vice Mayor, in his welcoming speech, noted the contribution made by the Federal Republic of Germany to the development of the Kyrgyz Republic, and projects that are implemented through partners in the city of Osh.

“Osh city administration is actively working to attract investments and is ready for close and expanded cooperation in all spheres,” the Vice Mayor said.

In turn, Monica Iversen expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and noted a number of joint programs and projects, according to which cultural, educational and scientific examples of cooperation between the two countries are carried out. In particular, it was noted at the meeting that about 500 students from Kyrgyzstan are studying in Germany, which is an example of good cooperation and the embodiment of the unity of two peoples.

“My visit to Osh is, first of all, an acquaintance with the regions, to get acquainted with the projects implemented here, to feel the dynamics of development on the spots. In the future, we plan to support the development of the health system of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as a number of projects on sustainable economic development,” she said.

“I also note that within the framework of cultural exchange, we are planning to hold Christmas concerts not only in Bishkek, but also in Osh. This will be a good gift for Osh residents, because one of our main tasks is to support the German language and culture in the Kyrgyz Republic, ”added Monika Iversen.

In addition, the sides discussed cooperation and further joint projects in the development of tourism and trade potential, in the fields of education and health, including the issue of the planned construction of a new perinatal center in Osh.
