Bishkek, Nov.12, 2019. /Kabar/. On Nov. 6-10, 2019 Bishkek hosted the UMUT (Hope) VII Forum of Young Cinema of the CIS countries, which was devoted to the 80th anniversary of Kyrgyz actor Suimenkul Chokmorov.
Gulbara Tolomushova, the program director of the UMUT said the Forum was held with the support of the Department of Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan, Culture Ministry, and financial support of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS member states.
At the closing ceremony, Larisa Sadilova was awarded the Prize for Contribution to the Cinema Arts.
Laureates of the National Competition:
- Best film: Ayana, directed by Aidana Topchubayeva.
- Best directing work: Keku’s Weekend of Dastan Madalbekov.
Laureates of the International Competition:
-Best film: Orhan Agazade’s Chairs (Azerbaijan);
-Best directing work: With a diploma to aul, directed by Samgar Rakym, Kazakhstan;
In the framework of the UMUT VII Young Cinema Forum of the CIS countries, the Assembly of Festival Unity of the CIS countries was held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time.
