Bishkek, Jan. 11, 2025. / Kabar /. 1,223 ethnic Kyrgyz received the status of Kairylman in 2024, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration reported.
According to data of the ministry, over 70 thousand ethnic Kyrgyz have been resettled to the territory of Kyrgyzstan over the years of independence. Of these, about 65 thousand people received Kyrgyz citizenship.
The status of Kairylman is granted by an interdepartmental commission of representatives of the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and the Department of Population Registration.
The request is processed within 2 months. In 2024, 1,223 ethnic Kyrgyz from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Russia, Turkey, Afghanistan and other countries received the status.
Kairylman is an ethnic Kyrgyz who is a foreigner or a stateless person who has voluntarily returned to his historical homeland and received the status of Kairylman. The status gives the right to receive social services on an equal basis with citizens of Kyrgyzstan, a state-guaranteed land plot, and participation in the resettlement program.
