Over 1 mln tons of vegetables harvested in Kyrgyzstan last year

Bishkek, Jan.20, 2020. /Kabar/. Last year, more than 1 million tons of vegetables were harvested in Kyrgyzstan, which exceeded the figure of last year by 3.5%.

According to the press service of the National Statistics Committee, more than 240 thousand tons of tomatoes, or 7.1% more, 182 thousand tons of carrots (3.2% more), 130 thousand tons of cucumbers , or 8.7% more were harvested in 2019.

The volume of garlic gathering has increased by almost 25 %.

At the same time, about 134 thousand tons of cabbage was harvested, which is 9.1 % less compared to the previous year, while onions’ gathering made over 200 thousand tons, or 4.1 % less.
