Tashkent, Nov. 8, 2021 / Kabar /. Over nine months of this year, 1 million 135 thousand foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.
The domestic tourism business has earned USD 273 million during this time.
If, due to pandemic restrictions, the tourist flow from countries such as Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea turned out to be low, then from some countries of Western Europe and the CIS, as well as the United States, the number the arrivals of tourists exceeded the forecasted indicators, the report said.
In addition, 105 new hotels and 1,001 family guest houses were launched from January to September 2021. As a result, the total number of hotels in the country reached 1,361, the number of rooms – 31,388, family guest houses – 2,365 units. In addition, 1,015 toilets were built and refurbished.
In 2022, it is planned to re-launch 636 accommodation facilities, 80 tourism organizations and create an additional 4.5 thousand jobs.
