Bishkek, Dec.26, 2024. /Kabar/. Since the beginning of the year, more than 1.5 million electronic preferential prescriptions have been issued in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Mandatory Medical Insurance Fund reported.
Kyrgyzstan continues to implement the program of preferential drug provision, which covers insured citizens and patients with chronic diseases such as bronchial asthma, epilepsy, paranoid schizophrenia, affective disorders and cancer. The main goal of the program is to increase the accessibility of medicines for citizens, as well as the possibility of treatment in outpatient conditions.
“The system of electronic preferential prescription, introduced in 2019 and fully deployed across the country from 2021, allows to improve the process of prescribing and dispensing of medicines. Electronic prescriptions have replaced paper prescriptions, making it possible to speed up and simplify all stages - from writing a prescription to receiving the medicine,” the report said.
For 11 months of 2024, 1.56 million e-prescriptions were issued for the amount of KGS 403.5 million. Of this number, 90% of prescriptions were issued to insured citizens, and 10% - to the privileged category of patients.
The largest number of prescriptions were issued to pensioners (27%), working citizens and individual entrepreneurs (20%), farmers and members of farms (12%), as well as children and students (8%).
