Bishkek, Jan.16, 2025. /Kabar/. Frequent cases of traffic violations indicate that inspectors of the Main Department for Traffic Safety are faithfully performing their duties, head of the press service of the Department Baikazy Aitikul uulu told Kabar News Agency.

He added that the number of traffic violations has increased in Kyrgyzstan. This is due to two factors. The first is the increase in the number of cars in the country, and the second is the improved work of traffic inspectors.

“In 2024, more traffic violations were recorded compared to 2023. This is due to both an increase in the number of cars and more effective detection of violations by officers controlling traffic. Last year, 104,400 cars were sent to penalty parking lots across the country for gross violations, and the amount of fines received by the budget exceeded KGS 650 million,” the head of the press service of the Road Safety Department said.

Since March 8, 2023, penalties for traffic violations have been toughened. Drivers in a state of intoxication are deprived of driving license for a period of one to three years.
